The classic restaurant
Whether traditional, Brazilian, Chinese or gastronomic, there are an abundance of restaurants in Paris offering a range of atmospheres and cuisine to satisfy all tastes. From seafood to couscous to the the finest French cuisine; from business lunch to amourous dinner - everything is possible in Paris.
The bistrot
Typically French, the bistrot is an establishment where you can have an "apéritif" at the bar, usually with regulars, before enjoying lunch or dinner from a homely kitchen. You can easily recognize a bistro by its decor, which generally recalls the beautiful Art Nouveau style of the early 1900s.
The brasserie
From ordinary to prestigious, the brasserie is a large restaurant where you can enjoy everything from sauerkraut to seafood. The atmosphere is particularly lively and dinners often extend until the early hours of the morning.
The café-restaurant
Whether for a coffee, breakfast, lunch or an "apéritif," the cafe-restaurant is open all day and often all evening. Sandwiches, salads and simple dishes are served and can exceed expectations. From spring to autumn the terraces are rarely empty. Cafés are the perfect place for a quick meal. With so many in Paris alone, you can make your selection from a wide variety of atmospheres and cuisines.
