*La Terrasse Mirabeau : A family restaurant perfect for the inhabitants of the south of the 16th quarter and neighbouring areas.

*La Closerie des Lilas : An establishment with a very professional welcome. One goes here to eat well, observe, and be seen. Service and quality can be irregular but don't hesitate to relate a problem - it will be acknowledged sympathetically.

*Chez Livio : An institution in Neuilly - the interior has just undergone a make-over which is very successful.

*Le Café de la Jatte :  A very beautiful and large terrace which is very popular on sunny days. In winter, the grand dining room is definitely worth a detour.

2/ Surrounded by greenery

A few small corners of paradise in parks or gardens.

*Le Châlet des îles : ideal for couples, this terrace is located on an island in the principal lake of the Boulogne forest which can be accessed by a small ferry. The food is very satisfying and afterwards customers can take a stroll around the island with its various fauna, including rabbits and peacocks.

*Le Bagatelle :  In the Boulogne forest, this restaurant with its numerous dining rooms and, especially its magnificent terrace in the heart of nature, proposes a carefully devised menu. It is necessary to reserve for lunch and dinner.

*Le Transversal : In a very pleasant setting in the museum of contemporary art "MAC/ VAL" in the suburb of Val de Marne, this restaurant gratified us with its simplicity and reasonable prices.

*Le Châlet de l'Oasis : A new restaurant in Saint Cloud park, you can enjoy lunch, an aperitif or dinner in plain countryside just 10 minutes from Paris. Sun is guaranteed throughout the day.

3/ Unusual terraces

*Batofar : In a relaxed atmosphere which welcomes children, this restaurant serves good bites and has lively music.

*café des Lettres : being translated.

* No Stress Café : A large terrace in a charming little square in the heart of the 9th with reasonable prices. This one is perfect for a drink or dinner in a pleasant unpretentious atmosphere.

*L'Estaminet d'Arôme et Cépages : A wine bar and restaurant with a terrace in the centre of the Market of Red Children (the oldest market in Paris). An original place open from Tuesday to Wednesday.

*Le Bon Pécheur :  A nice terrace which is friendly and not expensive.

*Le Point Ephémère : A moment of relaxation with this terrace on the edge of Saint Martin's canal - the terrace is only half open, which is a pity! However there is a large selection of diverse dishes and a good culinary level which is neither fanciful nor excessive. The only weak point was a slight delay whilst waiting to place our order.

 4/ Prestigious and gastronomic terraces

*Fouquet's :  A hot venue in Paris, numerous terraces are available running along the Champs Elysées and George V avenues. The clientèle primarily consists of the media, business, political and show-biz worlds. It is very pleasant in good weather - from morning for breakfast to evening for an aperitif or dinner. Service is polite but sometimes slow.

*Pavilion de l'Elysée : Located in the Champs Elysées gardens, this restaurant has a good standard of service and the food is exceptional.

*Ledoyen :  Like in the good old days, gastronomy and a beautiful setting make this an outstanding establishment.
